Week commencing 18th June 2006Make PRAYER part of my daily life
We can pray individually, together at church, or in small groups and families.
Faith Talk Discuss in your household or small group What is prayer? When does God want us to pray? What do you like about prayer? What do you find hard about prayer? Share about a time that God answered a prayer – even if it wasn’t the way you expected him to.
Devotional Life If it is not too cold, take a walk together as a family. Instead of talking to one another, pray silently, talking to God. Thank him for what you see. Pray for others in your family. Ask God to help you grow in praying as you go about your daily activities. If you want to, you could talk together about your experience.
Rituals and Traditions · Start a family Prayer Journal. Write your prayers in a book, and periodically go back over them and write God’s answers to those prayers in the book. Thank God for his answers. · Make a book of family prayers. Write out and illustrate prayers you use at mealtimes, and other special family prayers. Write prayers and pray them together regularly as a family.
Service Praying for others is a special thing that you can do for others. Pray for the people you help this week, or for the people who visit your home. Pray together for your child’s teacher at school, and their friends. Write a note to someone you are praying for them, and let them know that you think of them and pray for them.
